Fox Small Groups: How To Get Credit for Being In or Leading a Small Group

ALL FORMS ARE DUE BY WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22 AT 5PM. NO FORMS SUBMITTED AFTER THAT TIME WILL RECEIVE CREDIT.

If you have any difficulty with the forms come by the Spiritual Life House and fill out a hard copy.

For those who have attended a small group at least 7 times this semester click on link below to fill out the form and receive 4 credits.

For those who lead a small at least 7 times this this semester click on the link below to fill out the form and receive 6 credits.

SMALL GROUP LEADERS SIGN UP HERE..

There are 2 ways to be a small group leader...

ONE: Gather a group of your friends together (3 or more) and sign up by CLICKING HERE


A group can have two leaders, but both must attend the training

(Leaders must attend training which starts Sept. 12, 2008 in Hoover 105 from 10:35am - 11:35am - we will meet for 8 consecutive Friday's at that time and location).

TWO: Become a floor study leader. Floor study leaders must first speak with their RA. sign up by CLICKING HERE

Floor studies are simply small groups open to all residents in your living space. Floor studies can have multiple leaders but all the leaders are required to attend the training.

SPIRITUAL FORMATION CREDIT:

Each leader will receive 6 credits

Each group member will receive 4 credits

(most groups meet 10-12 times a semester, you must attend at least 8 times in order to receive credit)

What can the group be about?

The focus of the group is wide open, but the desire is simply that this is an intentional time that we take out of our week to be about relationship, to slow down for some moments of prayer, to learn, to share, and to grow. You can meet for regular prayer and life sharing. You can study a book of the bible together. You could have a reading group and have discussion around different sections of a book. You could watch the Nooma videos and talk about them...the options are as open as your creativity.

What does being a leader involve?

Our approach is simple, we want to be as much of resource to you as you need, but not make high demands of you outside leading the group. While anyone can attend the small group training (2-3 hours), we require that all those who are leading a small group for the first time attend.

You may also set up a meeting with Mark Benjamin to get seek some information to help prepare you to lead the group.

Twice a semester we also meet in groups with other small group leaders to share, reflect, encourage, and pray for each other.

Lastly, we end the semester by getting all of the leaders together to celebrate.
